About Take Dictation
Take Dictation puts spoken words at the cursor without sending the audio or transcript to a server. Transcription and cleanup run on the Mac, avoiding a cloud round trip between finishing a thought and continuing to write. It works in apps such as Mail, Notes and Messages. Fixed cleanup rules remove fillers and add punctuation without chatbot rewrites. The app needs no account or subscription. All features are available during a 14-day trial. The household licence costs $39 once. Requires an Apple silicon Mac with macOS 26 or later.
