About Captain
Captain provides managed search for product catalogs and files, including content that requires more than plain-text indexing. Developers can connect sources and use its APIs for retrieval instead of assembling every parser, embedding service, and ranking component themselves. The Developer plan has included indexing credits and queries, with paid overages; larger plans and custom deployment arrangements are separate. Start with realistic queries and a small collection whose permissions are clear. Inspect missing results, irrelevant matches, and extraction quality before expanding the dataset, and budget for indexing work as well as the queries people or agents will run.
