SCOPE OF WORK Original fictional SaaS integration example and blank form. Checked October 28, 2026. This is a delivery-planning resource. It contains no payment terms or ready-to-sign contract. EXAMPLE: BRIEFRELAY INTAKE HANDOFF Purpose: let a permitted client submit a project brief and let the correct team locate its status. Sponsor/decision owner: Product, proposed for the exercise. Delivery owner: Engineering, proposed for the exercise. Bounded environment: one staging workspace and synthetic client data before a pilot decision. D-1 Submission path: required title, agreed file types and a visible rejection path. Acceptance: Product reviews evidence for valid submission, missing title and rejected file recovery. D-2 Receipt path: stable submission reference visible to the authorized requester in the same workspace. Acceptance: Engineering supplies ordinary and cross-workspace access evidence; Product reviews it. D-3 Support handoff: status lookup and an exception runbook that avoid exposing private file contents. Acceptance: Support rehearses one fictional rejected-upload scenario and records remaining questions. D-4 User guidance: one help article and a short training walkthrough covering submission, receipt and recovery. Acceptance: Support reviews whether the steps match the recorded candidate. EXCLUDED Payment processing; replacing the identity provider; unrestricted file formats; a custom CRM; broad security certification; production data migration; ongoing response-time commitments. DEPENDENCIES An agreed identity context, workspace-scoped submission IDs, a staging file store, synthetic fixtures and named reviewers. If a dependency is unavailable, record the effect on deliverables and the decision rather than silently substituting a different workflow. HANDOFF Supply the candidate identifier, deliverable list, verification references, open issues, support owner and recovery instructions. A delivered artifact is not automatically an accepted artifact. Record the actual reviewer decision and date. CHANGE EXAMPLE Request CR-1: add CRM synchronization to every submission. Assessment: this introduces a new external service, identity mapping, retry behavior and support responsibility. Decision: DEFERRED in the fictional exercise until the owner evaluates impact and approves a revised scope. No delivery date or implementation is promised by this request record. BLANK SCOPE Purpose and intended result: Sponsor / decision owner: Delivery owner: Included deliverables with stable IDs: Acceptance observation and reviewer for each deliverable: Excluded work: Required inputs and dependencies: Assumptions to confirm: Delivery sequence or milestone references: Handoff contents and receiving owner: Open risks and questions: Change requester, requested outcome and reason: Impact assessment on scope, resources, schedule and verification: Decision owner, decision and date: Updated scope version and affected deliverables: Actual acceptance record: Terminology differs across organizations. A scope of work often sits inside a broader statement of work. Follow the agreement and decision process that actually governs your project.
