About vatnode.dev
vatnode is a REST JSON API for validating EU VAT numbers. It checks them against the official VIES service and returns validity, company name and address, and an official consultation number. VIES is slow and goes down, and every team ends up rebuilding the same caching and retry layer. vatnode does that once: results are cached, there is a national-registry fallback when a country’s VIES is unavailable, and bulk checks take up to 100 numbers per request. You can also save numbers and have them monitored daily. When a status changes, vatnode sends a signed webhook. There is a free keyless endpoint for EU VAT rates, a test mode with test keys, and integrations for n8n, WooCommerce and MCP. A free tier is available, no card needed. Built and run solo.
