Create a source brief before creating three assets
Repurposing saves work when several pieces share accurate research. Start with one audience, one problem, and one product workflow. Record the evidence you can show, the requirements someone needs to know, and the limitation that affects fit. This brief keeps your article, discussion, and video consistent without forcing them to use the same script.
For a hypothetical scheduling product, the shared story might be how a small consultancy collects availability across time zones. Gather the actual setup steps and a sample result using test data. Identify the point where a person still needs to make a decision. Keep any unsupported claim out of the brief, because it will otherwise spread into every format.
Choose the job of each asset
Use each format where it explains something well. This example is a planning aid rather than a prescription to publish every story on every platform.
| Format | Main job | Content to emphasize | Next step |
|---|---|---|---|
| Website article | Provide a reusable reference | Steps, time-zone assumptions, screenshots, and limitations | Open the relevant setup or product page |
| Reddit post | Invite a practical exchange | The coordination problem, approach, and one useful question | Discuss the workflow and visit the detail if relevant |
| YouTube video | Make the workflow visible | The starting state, actions, and final schedule | Read the matching walkthrough or try the workflow |
Write the article as the reference version
The article is a good home for detail that readers may need later: prerequisites, plan conditions, configuration choices, and a short troubleshooting section. Answer the central question near the beginning. Use headings that describe actual decisions and include links to the relevant product facts. A person should be able to understand the process without watching a video first.
Give the page a distinct purpose. If a current guide already explains the same task, improve it instead of publishing a near duplicate. Keep a record of which product version and facts you checked. When the workflow changes, that record helps you find the related discussion and video that may also need a correction.
Rewrite the opening for the community
A Reddit reader should receive a useful contribution within the post. Share the coordination problem, a practical lesson, and a specific question that you can discuss. Introduce your role in the product. The article can provide further detail when links are allowed, but it should not be necessary to understand the post’s central point.
Check the chosen community’s rules before choosing the format. A discussion about time-zone mistakes might be welcome where a product announcement is not. Use the conversation to understand other workflows and answer follow-up questions. Save genuinely new questions for the next revision of your brief rather than immediately turning every reply into promotional material.
Storyboard the video around visible evidence
Show the task in a sequence a viewer can follow. For scheduling, demonstrate the initial availability request, the time-zone handling, and the resulting choice. Put detailed settings in the article when reading them would slow the recording. Keep the title aligned with what the viewer will actually see, and use captions or on-screen labels to clarify important actions.
Verify the destination link in the published viewing format and match the next step to the demonstration. Keep a copy of the supplied media, publishing permission, final title, and destination with the brief. If another publisher handles the video, agree on correction responsibilities so an outdated claim does not remain in circulation unnoticed.
Publish with a shared record and a modest review cycle
Use a single worksheet to track the audience question, evidence, asset, owner, status, destination, and observed results. The example rows in the download are fictional planning examples. Replace them with verified details and remove any platform where you cannot maintain a useful contribution. A smaller, maintained set is easier to learn from than an unattended publishing schedule.
Review what each asset taught you: an unanswered question, a confusing step, a relevant visit, or a completed product action. Do not add views, comments, and visits together as though they were unique people. The value of working across three platforms is the chance to explain a product in complementary ways and learn which explanation helps its audience. Use the content outcome worksheet to keep each platform’s observations and follow-up decisions clearly defined.
